Num 9:9 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 9:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD.
Num 9:11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
Num 9:12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
Num 9:13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
Num 9:14 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.
This is an answer from God to Moses of a question posed to Moses by certain men. They had touched or carried a dead body and therefore they were unclean and not able to celebrate Passover with the majority of the people.
They could not celebrate the Passover but they wanted to, so God made provisions for those that were unclean who wanted to observe Passover, He also adds a clause for the one who is a sojourner away from home who wants to observe Those were the two allowances made for His people to not be held accountable to be in the Passover observance. God wants His people no matter where they are to Observe His Words, His Commandments.
Yet there is another clause I want you to see here. One that God Himself lays down, to all those who believe God does not take going to church seriously, or really any Commandment He has given, here is a warning.
God says any one among the people of Israel who is clean, and not sojourning, if they do NOT observe Passover they are to be called out, cast out and cut off from among the people.
This is such a serious thing to God, as is all of His Word, and people are to take His Word, His Work so very seriously.
He also even includes strangers who might be among the people at the time of the observance, He says those strangers, who are not of His people, who want to observe Passover, can do so without penalty.
When someone suggests God does not care about Sunday Church, or tithing, or serving, or what have you, here is definitive proof God holds His people to a higher standard than He does the sinner.
