2Ch 36:14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
2Ch 36:15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
2Ch 36:16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
Do you see the last part of the last verse?
"the wrath of the Lord arose against His people.
The wrath of the Lord arose against His people. I do not know how many times that needs to be repeated but I am betting we can not say this enough to today's America. God's wrath is building against His people.
"till there was no remedy". Think about this. There are 4 times I can think of off the top of my head where God was not listening to or hearing His people, but He always eventually heard them and repented Him of His wrath toward His people.
But this time there was no remedy for the wrath. NO REMEDY!
Do you understand what that means? The people, His Chosen were forsaken by God.
What's even more interesting is the most righteous king since David had just ruled the nation of Judah, Josiah had brought God's people back to God after Amon and Manasseh had been vile, horrible rulers. Josiah turned Judah back to God. Yet here we are just a few short years later and this is what happens. How far the nation of Judah fell in such a short time. In approximately 15 years (I think 13 is closer) we went from one of the Godliest kings to complete and total rejection by God.
There was no remedy. God gave Judah completely and totally over to Nebuchadnezzar, the same Nebuchadnezzar who we learn extensively of in Daniel.
The worst part of all this to me is "against His people". God's wrath was at His own people. There was no remedy for it.
Yes I know I am repeating but read and understand the finality of these words.
Never before has there been a situation like this.
In the Wilderness He had them wander till anyone over a certain age died except Caleb and Joshua.
In Judges He told them to call their little "g" gods but eventually He relented and helped them.
Never before have we been to the point that there was no remedy. This is new.
Need I remind you that Judah is David's line, the Messiah's line and they have brought the wrath of God on them to the point that there is no remedy?
I really hope you are getting the enormity of what is going on here and that we the Christians of today understand that "if my people which are called by my name" refuse to hear and honor Him there is a point of no return. A point of no remedy.
