The other day I heard some one say "well abortion may have killed the person who was going to cure cancer".
All my life growing up I heard do not get caught up in semantics, and useless arguments. Yet isn't that a useless argument, posited by someone who claims to believe in an Omnipotent God?
If you truly believe in God, the Creator of the universe then that argument is specious. Specioius: Superficially plausible, but actually wrong.
Wrong, Wrong How you ask? I am so glad you asked.
Mat 2:19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
Mat 2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
Because God has protected the life of the innocent that are here for His express purpose.
Exo 2:3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
Exo 2:4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
Exo 2:5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
Exo 2:6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
God can make sure His Will happens. I am not condoning abortion, never will I do that.
My whole point here is the fragile, futile arguments we try to stay away from, for instance
Can God make a rock too big for Him to lift or
Can God take away your salvation after He gives it to you?
People want to come to you with these questions and we try not to give in to vain babblings, or fantastical speculation. Yet don't we do the same when we say God can not protect what He will?
Either you believe in an Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent God, or you do not.
You can not have it both ways.
He is either Pure, Righteous, all-powerful and Able or He is not. There is no in between.
