I had a guy reach out to me the other day, he was a prophet with a new word from God for me. Then he asked for money before he could tell me the "Word" he had.
I touched on it once before, but I am going to say it loud and clear here.
A false prophet may very well believe what they say. They do not know the Spirit, therefore they do not understand the Scriptures as a true child of God will. You must not argue with them or get into a debate, for they may very well believe with all their heart and mind they are telling the truth, because for them it is, in so far as they can understand it.
It is like watching a 3 year old touch something you told them not to, yet you just saw them touch and they deny it vehemently because they did not see you see them. Therefore in their understanding you do not know what they know. Yet they think they know more than you when, in actuality, they know so very little because their understanding hasn't opened up yet.
It is the same for the natural man in the way of the Spiritual.
What is a prophet? In religion, a prophet is an individual who is regarded as being in contact with a divine being and is said to speak on behalf of that being
What is an Apostle? Peter proposed choosing a new apostle and set the qualifications. Not everyone could be considered for an apostleship. Candidates needed to have been with Jesus during the whole three years that Jesus was among them. That is, he needed to be an eyewitness of Jesus’ baptism when the Heavenly Father validated Jesus’ person and work. He needed to have heard Jesus’ life-changing teachings and been present to see His healings and other miracles. He needed to have witnessed Jesus sacrifice Himself on the cross and to have seen Jesus walk, talk, and eat among the disciples again after His resurrection.
Do you know why we do not have prophets today? Because we have the Word of God, the Spirit of God. We need not a prophet to proclaim what God says. We have that in God's Word. WE have preachers and teachers who study and lead and guide but no prophets with a new word.
If you read the qualifications straight from Peter listed above then you know that there are no longer any apostles.
When people tell you they are a prophet or an apostle just know those two offices are no longer in use today as originally set up, period.
Now the teacher or preacher who knows not the Spirit of God can deceive you very easily for they will believe what they say is the truth. They will proclaim it convincingly, they are usually dynamic, charismatic, and totally likable.
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
There was a man who considers himself a preacher of The Truth, yet when put on the spot on National Television he could NOT /did not say Jesus is the Way the Truth and The Life. He could not say Jesus is Savior and Jesus alone. He could not proclaim Jesus as Savior and King. This means that of his own lack of confession he is not of God.
Unfortunately today we have this type of person more than the type that proclaims Christ is the Only Way to heaven, any other path leads to Hell.
If any claim to be a prophet or apostle know they are generally profit seekers not a prophet of truth.
