Wanting to do God's Will

 2Sa 7:1  And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2Sa 7:2  That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

2Sa 7:3  And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

David had a heart for God, David had a desire to do God's Will. How many times is God waiting on us to realize we need to be doing His Will? He is not always going to show up, blind you, and tell you what ,precisely, you are to do.

God wants us to desire His Will, He wants us to ask Him what can we do, He wants you and I to have a heart for His Word, For Him, so that He might use us.

Neh 1:2  That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

Neh 1:3  And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

Neh 1:4  And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,

Nehemiah heard of the plight of God's people, and it broke his heart, he heard of the ruin of his hometown and he wept. He asked God that he (Nehemiah) might have mercy and favor to get the work of God started.

Many times God wants us to see the need, and pray to Him that we might be the answer for the need.

So many times we pray for revival yet we do not want anything to change in our own lives but in our city, state, and nation.

Many times we pray for God to send someone as long as is it is not us.

So very many times we ask Him to send missionaries, pastors, and evangelists to areas, but we are not willing to do a thing ourselves.

Perhaps God is waiting on you? Perhaps God is waiting on me?

How will His Will get done if there is no one willing to do it? How will His house get built if we do not have a desire for it to be built?

God sends you a task, yet you have more important things to be doing, right, Right? Nope.

Just this morning I was awakened by the thought that my house, which needs serious rehab, has been my full focus, but it is not the reason we moved. I need to renovate the house we are moving into but God sent me here to help rebuild His house, and it is time I got on it.

What has God asked of you that you are putting off? What has God asked of you that you are delaying because you have other things to do?

Are you praying as Nehemiah and David that you might be the instrument to further God's Will? Or are you just asking Him to do it as long as it does not cost you a thing?
