Lack of interest

Many times I have wrote on the lack of Spirit and fire, lack of motivation from the church, and the people of the Church. I stress that church is church, it is what the people make of it. Yes the people, not the Pastor. As I have said recently the church molds itself to the wants and needs of the people. A pastor will get worn down by a dead spirit in his people, a teacher will get worn down by students who are happy with a “d” grade as long as they pass and are accepted by their peers. Christians are “happy” with their salvation and satisfied to rest on that and do nothing more. They will just get by.

The people who won’t go to a movie house will turn that same movie on when it is on their tv.

The people who won’t go to bars, will hold beer and wine in their refrigerator.

The people who are vexed by the sin of the nation, yet let the tv and the “education” system indoctrinate their families and desensitize them to that sin.

The people who want God’s blessing, will not witness or testify or live for fear of a mean word from work or the neighbors.

The very people praying for revival, will not go to church more than once a week. Will not have a prayer meeting, or try to get anything going. And why? Because they get no response from other people. There is no response because there is no Spirit.

1Sa 4:21  And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.

Has the Glory of God departed from the church? Are we now Ichabod?

I ask this not in a greater context but I want you to ask this of your heart, your house, your church, your nation.

I must ask this of myself on a continual basis to be certain I am serving out of Spirit rather than out of rote.

Has the Glory of God departed? Has the Spirit left us? For many times we are serving and ministering with no Spirit, but in our power because it is what we do. It’s our job, it’s our calling.

May I politely disagree? The man of God’s calling is to be a man of God! A man of the Word, A man filled with the Spirit!

How many times do we serve in the flesh? How many times do we leave God at home as we go to “serve” and lead?

Do we pray and wait for the Spirit or must we fill an appointed time slot put and on a performance, for the people must be entertained?

Do we dare stand and tell the people the Spirit is not here yet, we must wait. How dare we, when the Spirit is moving, keep the clock in the forefront  of our eyes.

Do you really think God will follow our timetable? Or that because we have placed Him on a schedule He will show up when we tell Him to, for 2or 3 of us are gathered so surely we are doing that which He said.

Have you sold out for God or are you a sell out? Have you so long been without the Spirit that you no longer have a desire for the Spirit?

If the Spirit of God actually showed up would it scare you? Or would it empower you and your fellow congregants?

This is a very serious question, truly life and death, spiritual as well as physical, hinges on this question.

Has the Glory of God departed your heart, your life, your church?

If there is no Spirit in these three things, then you have lost the nation.

You say but others are leading, praying, preaching, I am ok letting them do it. Then if you are ok leaving it up to others to save this world from Hell, then I kindly suggest you check your salvation.

God has called you, YOU, to win the world.

If you are having no fruit, then you better check that there is life.
