2Ch 12:12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
2Ch_32:26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
Rehoboam and Hezekiah humbled themselves and turned away the wrath of the Lord.
Rehoboam humbled himself, Hezekiah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem humbled themselves.
Church isn't it about time we humbled ourselves? We are in a state of despair right now over the lack of convening due to the covid, we are in an uproar over the church being fined for having services, we are flabbergasted at the prospect of wearing masks, and having just a few people compared to our normal congregation.
Yet we are not grateful, that we can worship openly in this nation. We are not grateful that instead of being shot, imprisoned, tortured for having services we may just have to pay a fine.
We are not grateful to Almighty God for the blessings we have, instead we are in a tizzy about what we do not have, woe is me what's happening? Where is God? Why are we being persecuted? We have not seen anything yet.
We keep wanting to claim end of days, Jesus is coming soon all because we face some mean words and a few fines.
What about all the years leading up to this that we did nothing to prepare for this time? What about the generations lost to our complacency? What about the world that has gone from moral to totally immoral? While we fiddled!
What about the inaction of the church that allowed 2 full generations to forget God, to be so mentally unstable that they do not know what gender they are?
Church - Look in the mirror and blame the man or woman you see there.
We have given up our job of teaching the children, of raising them in a Godly house, of preparing them for a world that will corrupt them to the state. We have failed them and we must humble ourselves before God.
You say "it didn't start with us, it was the generations before".
I say it is on us, we didn't fix it.
We can not blame it on others for what they did not do, despite the generations that came before us. They may have let us down, but we did not pick up the torch and advance against the enemy, oh no we wallowed in self pity and allowed the world to make advances into our ranks.
Dan 5:22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Dan 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
Belshazzar knew what God had done in regards to Nebuchadnezzar his father but he regarded it not in his heart and did what he wanted anyways.
We have not regarded God, oh we have served Him oh yes we have, in our time, at our convenience.
We have tithed, oh yes but have we given willingly or out of commandment and guilt? We have attended the services, but only when the fish were not biting, or the weather not too bad, or the kids didn't have obligations.
We have failed Him! We are at fault! We have not humbled ourselves before God, instead we rail against the government, we cry at our precious "freedoms" being stepped on, we blame anyone and everyone except ourselves.
You say " they took prayer out of schools".
You say "they took the Bible".
You say " I can not witness on the job or I will get fired".
You say "they have allowed corruption over the airwaves".
You say "they repealed the blue law"
I say we allowed all this to happen, and when it became arduous we stopped trying to fight. We let them do everything they did. We allowed it to get this far in this nation. We failed our God, our society, our families, and future generations because the government said you can't and we ,as sheep, listened to them instead of our Lord God.
They said we can not witness, so we didn't. They said you can not pray in school, so we didn't, they said you can not allow God in the Federal Government so we let them take Him out.
You might lose your job if you do, boo hoo.
You might lose your precious truck (I love mine so I am guilty too).
You might be called names, you might be looked at weird.
Christ humbled Himself came to this earth, suffered and died that we might have Life and we will not even witness at work for fear of losing a job?
Php_2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Church, oh Church, the levels of complacency and complicitness we have reached, because we have not humbled ourselves before Him.
We can't get out in the weather, but He wore a crown of thorns, we can not risk losing our precious jobs (that interfere with our service anyway}, but He laid down His life freely in the most gruesome manner ever done.
Everything we cry about now is our fault. We have not humbled ourselves, realizing that all we have ( house, vehicles, jobs, kids, clothes, food) are at His good pleasure. Designed to help us in our service to Him and not for us to look at and say "my what a good person I am".
The church has boiled down His service to 4 hours a week at the most for a few and 1 hour a week for the majority. 4 hours (sunday school, sunday morning church, sunday evening and a midweek hr), most have stopped even that and have gone to 1 service a week,1!!Is that humbling ourselves? Is that recognizing Him? Is that serving?
No we have failed, we have sinned, we have left Him. If you do not agree with me on this, ok, then go to the source and ask HIM. Pray to Him and ask Him have you done enough. Have you given, served, attended enough.
Compared to His sacrifice, we will never do enough, can never do enough, in fact, we have even quit trying, because we can't do enough.
We laugh with the world at the perversions, the sin on tv, we find it humorous instead of it breaking our hearts, we talk like them, walk like them, act like them and then ask God why He has forsaken us.
Church, it is time to take back our nation. Time to give Him all, Time to understand He hasn't moved, we walked away.
It is time for some wholesale humbling.
