I have been watching the new a lot because of the pandemic we are currently facing. Our politicians are squabbling over how best to use this crisis, the people we have elected to government to represent us, are trying to cash in on this thing instead of doing what's best for we the people.
I am also seeing a lot of religious institutions do the same thing.
Fearmongering by both sets of people is not doing anyone any good. those trying to profit off the crisis make me sick to my stomach.
However, the whole "let's not let a good crisis go to waste" thought is just plain wrong.
In 1918 there was the "Spanish flu", that was 100 yrs ago and the same set of rules then are being used today. This is not a new thing. Schools were closed, churches shut down to prevent the spread of the flu.
I do not know if this is setting up the Rapture and God's timetable, and thank God I don't have too. As a child of God's I just have to trust Him.
Right now in this world we have swarms of locusts "of biblical proportions", we have disease, we have earthquakes like never before, we have volcanic activity unseen in ages, we have fresh water flowing into the dead sea, fish alive in the dead sea and all these are followed by "this is biblical".
Again I do not know if this is of God, or if this is just the cyclical span of the ages coming to pass.
I will not try to guess God's mind, nor what is natural and normal.
I am going to make the case that if they do not come to Christ because He loves them, because He died for them. If they do not see a God who loved us so much that He came to earth, took on our form, suffered at our hands, and died for us, then they won't see the reasoning in the judgments to come.
Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Many have heard of Christ, the Son of God and have not believed.
If they have not believed because of so great a love that was manifested, yes manifested not just spoken, not just told of, but manifested towards us in the person of Christ, then how will they believe in anything else?
The Bible has been here in it's current form for over 400 hundred years but they have not believed.
The Bible, the Word of God sent to us from direct eyewitnesses in the Gospels. The writings of The Life of Christ inspired by the Holy Spirit. penned by man are there for all to see. Yet they do not see, they do not hear, they do not believe.
1Jn_4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
If they do not believe when they hear of such love, such sacrifice by the very One who created them, then how will they believe in last minute panic?
Noah preached for 120 years and none entered the ark save his family.
Noah preached damnation and judgment to come. The people (my word here not God's) did not believe for what was rain? The world was going to end? that had never happened before and therefore couldn't happen now. Man's imagination could not see the truth of coming judgment. therefore they rejected it.
We have the same kind of thinking today. God loves us so much, He is a good and gracious God surely He won't destroy that which He loves?
How could a loving God allow bad thing to happen?
How can God send someone to hell isn't that against His very nature?
God has said it, that settles it. If they can not believe such a great love, if they can not see Him holding back His judgment for their sake, if they refuse to hear the very Word of God, then how will they believe us now?
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Christ crucified is the greatest message ever to preach to a lost and dying world. It is God's love toward us that led us to Him, the Spirit working in us to tell us of our need of the Savior.
If they are not moved by the very manifestation of God in human form, the one who came to this earth that He created, for make no mistake Christ is God.
Many do not make that connection.
Christ is God. Yes we call Him the son of God, but He is God the Creator in human form. He walked the very dirt He made us of, the very air He breathed, He actually breathed into existence.
He came to this earth to live as we do, to be tempted as we are, to die for us as the perfect (in so many ways) sacrifice.
If they can not believe in that, they will not believe in the judgments, they will not believe in the crisis.
Do not change the message to one of fear, oh no, make it the Love.
Do not capitalize on the crisis, proclaim the Cross and Christ crucified.
Do not live as if we are clinging to this frail life, Love as if we have all eternity and preach His Name, His Love, His Word and His sacrifice.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
