KJV Luk 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Peace good will towards men. All men God has good will towards. Glory to God in the highest.
God has the highest seat there is. He is placed in a place of Honor at the top, at the pinnacle, in the highest.
niv “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Peace on earth to those He favors? Glory to God in the highest heaven?
This verse has turned me around. I read this and stopped in total incredulity.
In the Highest heaven?
There is only one heaven, there are not multiple heavens, there are no stages to heaven.
There is Heaven where God resides and we are to be with Him forever. That is what makes it heaven!
This verse rendered by the niv has changed the full and total meaning to perversion.
God sent His Son to All Men, Women, and Children. Not just to some who His favor shines upon.
He came that ALL might be saved.
Any who call themselves teacher or preacher or Christian that reads the version that removes the blood, removes the sovereignty of God, Removes the Holy Spirit to the footnotes is no true version of God. it is apostasy.
There are those who say it is easier to read and understand but if you read and understand the wrong theology, the wrong doctrine, the wrong god then of what value is it?
The niv removes Hell.
There is a Hell. Jesus spoke of it as a true, physical place. In the niv Hell is made into hades.
Hades was born in greek mythology, not in the Bible. Not in God's Word.
The rich man being in Hell raised up his eyes in torment.
Hell is Torment, not just fire, flames, suffering and thirst.
Hell is separation from God.
Just as there is a second eternal life, there is a second eternal death, the Separation from God. The separation from Christ who died for you, who suffered and bled and died so that you would not have to.
The perfect lamb of God who lived a sinless perfect life that He might be THE Sacrifice for you, you will be separated from Him. The light of the world will go out for you as you are led away to eternal damnation.
The niv removes accountability from our actions by making hell a myth.
It removes God from the Highest heaven.
It removes punishment for sin.
It makes death end in the grave. The grave is not the end, it is only the beginning.
I am telling you here and now God is a Holy God, a Righteous God, a just God.
He is also the God who said that if you believe not on His Son you will die and go to Hell.
Let God be true and every man a liar.
There is a day of reckoning and judgement.
There will be a day when those who teach and preach less than the truth will stand and give account for all those souls they led astray.
A day when the false prophets and false teachers will stand and realize that whatever the reason they preached falsehoods, they taught lies, they took away the deity of Christ, they will stand in judgement and account for their actions and it will not be well done thou good and faithful servant.
No, they will hear depart from me I never knew you.
I think if there is even a chance that I might be teaching falsehood, I would study and pray and seek the truth.
I would hope that others will do the same. For the chance that I might be misinforming even one, is a chance I do not want to take.
