You know, in the Scriptures there is not just a way to do things there is also several example of how and why, not to do them.
God is not all just do as I say! Follow My Word or Else!
He gives working examples how to do things and how not to do them.
In the Bible we are warned of wolves in sheep clothing, we are warned of apostates, of false prophets, and of those that come in the name of Christ yet have no true idea of Who He is.
There are those who will try to profit by fleecing the people through con jobs, those who will try to fake people out of their money and those who will co--opt the name of Christ without truly caring about the people of Christ, just the financial gain,
Those who see the power of God and try to benefit from it but do not know the God of power.
Acts 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth
Acts 19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
Act 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Act 19:17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Act 19:18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
These men tried to call upon The name of Christ to cast out Spirits, but the spirits (demons) did not respond in the fashion that they expected. The demons knew the Authority called upon but they did not know the ones trying to use that authority.
There are consequences to mis-using the Power of God. Whether you falsely use the Name of Christ to fake heal, or to lead the people down a road of apostasy or to make money preaching a perverted message.
These consequences may be immediate, or you may not pay for 10 15 or 20 years, or then there is the final judgment day where you will pay.
But pay these people will. God is The Judge and Jury. He will not forget those who lead His church astray. He will not forgive those who pervert the message for personal gain. Those who change the Word into just words, just speeches.
1Ki 22:6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
1Ki 22:7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
1Ki 22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so
This guy, the king of Israel chose to not call the one person who would tell him truth, but instead called all those who would tell him what he wanted to hear. How great he was, how easy the victory would be, how great life would be.
He did not want to hear truth, he wanted validation to do what he intended to do.
Oh be careful of the one who would tell you to do anything that is not in the Word!
That is not of God!
It is a bad road to be on. It is the path to destruction.
Br careful of the messenger for they can very well have convinced themselves that they speak under God's Authority,Yet not know God themselves.
Be careful whom you give your money too for they may just be after the money and not your welfare.
I know right? who would have ever thought to take advantage of the sheep?
Tit 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Tit 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Tit 1:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
There is a time when these will stand before God and it will not be good.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I have said and will continue to say to try the messenger who is giving the message through the Word of God. Through the Spirit of God. Use the very Word of God to test the veracity of these people. All people who will stand forth and proclaim a message.
Even some who started out the right way with the right message may go astray. There are those who will find preaching the Truth will not be as profitable or as easy a life as they want so they water it down, they take a grain of truth and turn it into a tree of wrong.
Those who once stood in a mighty way but the battle wore them down, the money became a little to enticing and they have taken to preaching their own brand name and not The Name. The Way. The truth. The Life.
God is Love. But He will NOT Love and condone Sin.
God is patient but He is not going to turn a blind eye.
God is good, but He does not want all people healthy and wealthy.
God is Sovereign, we can not know His Will in all things if we are not in His Word. We can not know His Heart if we do not know His Word.
1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
