The other day my wife and I were out driving. It was a rainy day, gray skies in the air everywhere, not storms just the dull dreary gray. As we were going along rte 222 I looked up and left and saw a hole in the clouds..
Through this hole I saw a plane flying above the clouds, a vapor trail from a plane that had passed through earlier as well.
This plane was operating in blue sunny skies above the clouds. They had no idea of the dreary depression of those of us on the ground under the clouds.
Sometimes in life we get to the same place. We may be depressed, down and surrounded by gray everywhere, forgetting that our God is above the clouds. The Son (Sun) is always where the Father is.
We get so wrapped up in our present circumstances that we forget that it is temporal, filling our days and hearts with gloom. We forget to look up and see the holes in the clouds that will let us get a glimpse of our Father.
Psa 36:5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
Psa 36:6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Psa 36:7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Psa 36:8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
Psa 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Psa 36:10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
We have troubles and trials.
We have depression and fear.
We have doubts.
Sometimes our biggest obstacle to seeing the Father is ourselves.
We fail to get out of our own heads and into His Word.
Living in your own head can be your biggest failing of all.
Look up through the clouds of depression and fear see the blue skies above where the Father resides and know that He has it all in hand.
Read the psalms, sing songs and worship our God.
Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Look full in the eye of your savior and you will remember who has you in their hand.
Jesus Himself tells us that the clouds are important because He will be coming back through them.
But they are not the problem.
Look beyond the clouds. They will part one day as Christ comes through.
Do not let them obscure Him from your sight.
.Mat 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
