1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
What are we teaching? How?
Are we raising parrots that repeat what they have heard or can they rationally and comprehensively explain what they believe and why? knowing the why is the most important part.
Are we teaching them by rote or are we teaching them from the heart? How can we teach if we are mimicking or parroting what was told to us?
Are we teaching experiential heart filled lessons, or from a book or lesson plan with no actual passion?
Are we raising a generation with no apologists, merely those who can repeat what they heard with no background or understanding to defend their faith?
Are they saying things because everyone else says it's bad or good?
The apostle Paul warned against those who know not how to discern. Are we teaching discernment and leaning on the guidance of the Holy Spirit or are we saying believe it cause it is right and what I tell you to believe?
I am seeing a whole generation who have no depth, I am seeing those who when questioned can not explain why they believe, are protesting, or boycotting and generally have no idea what ultimately they are doing.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

We know the only way to keep people from falling for lies, false theologies, and false prophets is to bring them up firmly rooted in the truth.
Yet how do we help them to have a solid Rock foundation if we do not teach them with passion, zeal and a faith the grain of a mustard seed ourselves?
We need to correct this fault and ensure that we are teaching from a heart filled spirit filled life firmly rooted in the Holy Scriptures.
We need grounded people to teach the faith, to make sure they know why they believe what they believe.
They need to know facts, reasons, and scripture. Not half baked theologies, half truths, or false theories.
We need calm rational people who can debate, who can stand tall in the midst of criticism and know they are right, but not because they think they are right but because they KNOW.
The Bible is there to tell us the truth. We are here to teach, encourage and exhort. We are here to make sure the next generation can withstand the storm, that the next generation knows our God and they know whom they have believed, and are persuaded that He is able to keep them against that day.
