John 4:50King James Version (KJV)
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
Jesus spoke of many things: parables, prophecy, proverbs, the law, and the spirit of the law. Though He only walked the earth in His ministry for 3 yrs, He impacted the world in a way that lasts through today.
His Words are some of the most quoted and, often, misquoted used today. Yet the power of the Word(s) He spoke is still there today.
Today we have the same power of the Word. We have the Word of God, the Holy Bible, God breathed.
We have the Holy Spirit guiding us and leading us in the interpretation and understanding of the scriptures.
Yet we use less of this Word, less of God's opinion of sin and more of our own.
We have taken the Holy Bible, the Word of God and made it to fit us rather than fitting us into God's image.
We have used our words- parsed, weak, and Derivative rather than God's Word which shows us our shortcomings. Which shows us His Power, His Holiness, His Purity; however, it also shows us His wrath, His anger, His Judgement.
We have neglected the God of Wrath and have only told of the God of Love, the God we want not the One who is. We have turned Him into an old grandpa we might have instead of the never changing, Holy and Just God that He is.
We need to get back to the Holy Word of God as the final authority. Not the justification word or the mealy mouthed word which explain away sin, we need to get back to what God sees it as, How He sees it.
God is great, God is Good. God is vengeful, God is jealous, God is permanent. Therefore, based on History we will be coming under judgment for our stance(or lack thereof) on sin.
The church is going to be held responsible. The church is going to pay.
God will not let His people continue on in their wicked ways. We the church must repent and take a stand. We must use the power of the spoken word, through the might Of the Holy Spirit. We must use the Word of the Word of Life: Jesus.
