I was thinking about being washed in the blood of Christ, of course the wording we use there is metaphorical; however, the shed blood of Christ is not metaphorical or symbolical. It is real. Christ, the perfect Lamb of God, volunteered to die a horrible, painful, excruciating death to atone for you and I.
Blood, the source of life for every thing, is the most precious thing every person or animal has. It is the one thing we can not live without. Christ, who is God, came to earth, lived as we do and died sinlessly perfect to atone for us, our sins, our every sin. Not just the sins of the really bad, or the really good. Not just the great people, the history makers but for me, the homeless, the average, the non descript, the people whom no one else cares about. He died because He loved us and wanted us to be with Him forever. Something we could not do on our own. He died because He loves and cares for me, for you, and for every living person born on the face of this earth.
John 3:16KJV
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
This shed blood has been the source of talk for thousands of years now.
Here is the thing that struck me the other night.
A dip will not do the cleaning job, a sprinkling won't get your clothes clean just wet.
When you wash your clothes you submerse them in water and agitate them and use a foreign agent with the water and scrub and stain remove and CLEAN them.
In the blood of Christ you must be submerged, agitated around, and washed with the blood to get the stains out. There is no other way to be clean, pure, and Holy without the blood.
Revelation 1:5King James Version (KJV)
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Be washed in the blood, be submersed and cleaned in the Holy, precious blood of Christ. Nothing else will do, not a toe dip, a sprinkle, a misting, or a spray. You must be washed, wholly covered.
Are you washed in the blood? Are you resting secure in what He has done? Nothing you or I can do to achieve this cleansing, nothing we can say or do other than Lord save me.
Be washed in the blood, be cleansed by the blood and be whiter than snow.
