Mark 9:23-25King James Version (KJV)
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
This man knew that his faith, his believe power was insufficient, that even this he could not do by himself.
He needed the Lord Jesus to help him.
We all have those moments, a sick child or relative, a loss of a job, an unexpected circumstance that we can not possibly see our way through and as we pray we fail to see the power of God. As we pray, worry, fret, and despair; we, in our disbelief, fail to allow God to work.
As we look out at creation and wonder why and how He made it and then we wonder if the God of all this can actually love me, take time to see me, talk to me, or even care with all He has going on.
Then in my disbelief I, yes even I, must call out "Lord help thou my unbelief!"
At times we get attacked whether from within or without we will falter, we will waver. We are human we must call on the Lord to Help us.
I have said it before and will say it again when I am in trouble and under attack, wavering, faltering I speak the name of Jesus the name above all names aloud and then He brings me peace and power.
The next time satan or even your own mind brings you to the land of doubt, the pit of despair cry out to God "Lord help thou my unbelief!"
The next time you are in a circumstance you can not see the end of pray "Lord help thou my unbelief!"
If you can not see it He can. If you don't know He does.
"Lord help thou my unbelief!"
