Just as I am

You will never be good enough to get to God. You can never be good enough in and of yourself. It is not up to us being good enough. It is when we know that we can do nothing through ourselves, through our own power, through our own merit. It is when we submit to His Will and allow Him to work though us.
It is only through Christ that we can come to God.
It is only through Christ that we can do anything.

Ephesians 2:8-9King James Version (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

We are all not worthy yet He loved us. He died for us.
Too many times we forget that Christ was God in human form. Not just the Son of God, but God Himself in the flesh. God came to earth to be as we, to suffer and be tempted in all points like as we are yet He was God nonetheless. He came to earth and died a grisly, punishing death for us.

We also forget many times that of all the Patriarchs in the Bible not a single one,outside of Christ, was perfect.

Abram (also known as Abraham) was working in an idol shop and lied repeatedly..
Moses was a stutterer, had anger management problems, and was a murderer.
David was the youngest son, committed adultery and murder.
Jacob was a deceiver, he stole Esau's birthright instead of waiting on the promise of God.
Peter, the rock, lied, denied Christ and in times of trouble turned back.
Solomon the wisest of all was polygamous.
Saul/Paul was a murderer and persecuting the very church Christ was building.

Yet God used all these men to further His Work. He did not wait for them to be perfect. He perfected His work through them. He used them and despite their flaws God's Work was accomplished.

That is what He wants from us. If we wait till we are perfect or good enough we shall never do a thing. Let Him work through you. A perfect work not a perfect vessel.
Be as Isaiah was when God asked 'who would go?'

Isaiah 6:8-9 (KJV)

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

This should be our response to God. Not I am too old, too tired, too poor, too weak, too rich, too busy, too inexperienced, too qualified.

Be careful what excuse you might give, God might just remove that obstacle for you. God has a way of getting His Will done and it is best if you say "Here am I Lord Send me."
Do not be a Jonah. Running from  the Will and the Word of God. There is nowhere to go that He can not find you.

Let today be the day that you come to God and stop making excuses. Let today be the day you allow Him to work through you. Stop running and putting up obstacles.

Get right with God, serve Him at His pleasure not your convenience. If you have problems you feel are going to keep you from serving, lay them at the foot of the cross. God wants you in His power, For His Glory, to do His Will.
Just as I am, without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me.

Just as I Am, Without One Plea

The United Methodist Hymnal Number 357
Text: Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Music: William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868
Tune: WOODWORTH, Meter: LM

1. Just as I am, without one plea,
 but that thy blood was shed for me,
 and that thou bidst me come to thee,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

2. Just as I am, and waiting not
 to rid my soul of one dark blot,
 to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

3. Just as I am, though tossed about
 with many a conflict, many a doubt,
 fightings and fears within, without,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

4. Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
 sight, riches, healing of the mind,
 yea, all I need in thee to find,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

5. Just as I am, thou wilt receive,
 wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
 because thy promise I believe,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

6. Just as I am, thy love unknown
 hath broken every barrier down;
 now, to be thine, yea thine alone,
 O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
