The other day I got a call from my youngest son that my daughter and my 5 month old grandbaby had been in a car accident. My heart dropped as I raced out the door to get to the hospital 35 minutes away, I was praying and pleading with God before I knew what was going on. It turned out OK, they were both fine, the vehicle wasn't but other than a few bumps and bruises both my girls were OK.
However what I found most interesting about this whole thing was that I many times over have thought this nation was on a fast track to destruction. But in that hour I found that many, many people in this nation are still on God's path, still on track. We the People still call God Jehovah our God. The prayers from people I knew and the ones I didn't gave testimony to that fact.
I am also in an attempt to further the spread of God's Word by establishing an internet radio station on which I can have sermons and cantatas and special music from our church playing 24/7 in case anyone wants to hear it. In setting up this internet radio station , which as it turns out is as hard as it sounds to do, I saw hundreds, literally hundreds of christian radio stations putting forth God's Word. I saw hearts searching after God in those listings. I saw people concerned for a lost and dying world.
So many times I feel like we are losing. So many times I feel overwhelmed in this world. I have come to the very serious conclusion that God's people are still the majority. We are allowing ourselves to be marginalized by the mainstream media, news, networks, and Government. They may have gone astray and have an agenda that is totally against the Will of the people but they are not the people of the United States of America.
There are still many who say as Joshua did " as for me and my House we will serve the Lord our God",
We are not alone. The war is not lost. We may have lost a battle or two, we may have lost a step. But we have not nor will we lose the war.
The trick is not to be discouraged, but to do our jobs. God gives the increase we can only sow the seed. We can plant, we can witness, we can testify, we can preach, and we can teach. We must do these things, we must stay steady and consistent. We must preach and teach to one the same as we would for the hundred.
Luke 15 King James Version (KJV)
15 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
This is why faithfulness is so important. It is not up to us to worry over numbers, nor to worry for results. It is up to us to Serve. To make the Word of God known and available. It is up to us to have the doors open. To set the events. to witness. To get the Word of our services, our events out. If even one person comes then we are blessed to share the Word of God, the Gospel of Christ with them.
It is up to God to get the results.
We, and I mean I, need to quit worrying if we are alone. The depression, doubt, and despair is from the pit of Hell. We are to endure. We are to serve the few as we would the many. We may never know the true reaches of our works, our words until we get to Heaven. But God knows. He will reward faithfulness. He will reward constant faithful servants. Stay the course, do not worry about what we can't see. Keep your eyes on Christ and His Great Commission to us
. All else is up to Him
