I heard a guy say on the radio today "When we serve, God gets the privilege of seeing His Will done here on earth". How Presumptuous! How prideful!
God allows us to serve here and to do His will as a privilege for us. God's will would get done with or without us!
Remember the words Christ spoke concerning the throngs on His Triumphal entry into Jerusalem:
Luke 19:35-40
35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Christ makes it clear that if the people were not singing His praises the very rocks themselves would sing them.
God does not need us for anything. He is the Creator of this universe. He created man and everything else out of nothingness. What do we have that He might possibly need? Our money? our time? He already owns and controls all concerning us.
We are privileged if God deems us worthy to do anything to further His Will. We are privileged He hears our prayers, He listens to our hearts and wants, and needs. We are privileged to spread His Word, to Bear the Good News through out the land.
Remember the words of the Psalmist:
Psalm 8:3-5King James Version (KJV)
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Almighty God - it is our privilege to serve Him. Our privilege to have salvation provided by Him. Our privilege to be called the sons of God.
