Normally on these posts I won't get into politics. Or the doom and gloom predictions of the end of the world. We know the world is not going to end till after Christ comes back and takes His children home. I will not speculate on the signs of the times , when Christ is coming back, or the identity of the Anti-Christ. We know as Bible-believing Christians that nothing happens without God's ok. We know that His will is what will be done on His time table in His way.
That being said I do feel it is necessary to comment on the events of the past few days. The Israeli ground incursion into Gaza, the "caliphate" being established in Iraq, and the plane being shot down in Ukraine.
We here in America have not known the hardships most citizens of the world feel. We have too much a sense of false security, too much time on our hands, and a loosening of our morals as a nation. We do not know what it means to have rockets fired at us day in and day out. To be surrounded by enemies and have those enemies hate us and want us to be eradicated off the face of the earth. To have the present threat of death hanging over us every day by terrorists, by people who place no value on life other than what they can get out of you before they kill you or send you off to prison because they don't like you or agree with you. Christians are being killed for their faith and no other reason.
Here in America people are more worried about 'equality", fairness, inclusiveness, getting God out of daily life, and the watering down of morality.
Whereas in Nigeria, Iraq, Israel, Gaza, Ukraine, Somalia and various other places people are trying to survive. Trying to eat, protect their families, and just survive.
They have problems we do not have the ability to comprehend. We go to bed with filled bellies, clean sheets. watching tv, taking hot showers, playing video games etc.
There is no way I can get you to fully understand the plight of these people and why America is so blessed by God in our standard of living, our total prosperity, and the security we have. I have been to 21 countries and have seen the squalor they live in, the dirty cities, the backstreets, the crowded living conditions, and the way of life they lead.
Israel is God's chosen people still today and I strongly respect and support them. America still supports them. They are a sovereign nation, targeted daily by a terrorist organization called Hamas that wants what they have. Israeli's have learned to be bombed and get on with their daily lives, they have learned to survive despite being hated by all but a few countries. Israel must and will survive. However, the terrible onslaught of persecution against them is extracting a horrible price on them and those attacking them. All because Israel is God's chosen and the children of Ishmael and Esau want what they have.
When the incursion first started you see a video with 14 or so Hamas individuals who were in Israel via a tunnel and were going to wreak havoc. Israel stopped this attempt and then bombed the tunnel these cowards ran back into. During a ceasefire they were still trying to attack and cause harm while Israel was getting the citizens of Gaza supplies. The very citizens these Hama thugs are supposed to be part of. Hamas hid 20 rockets in an elementary school! They are cowards and thugs, Israel has been honorable and above board. Going out of their way to warn of attacks so innocents and the guilty alike can get out of harms way.
The Russian plane being shot down. 300 people killed for no reason other than they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. An accounting must take place there and we in America must demand answers. We are the leader of the world despite our current administration's attempts to make us subservient. We are the ones people look to for guidance and we must set a firm tone and exact justice for this action. We can not live in an isolationist society. We are the example. We are the only ones with the power to get these answers and the perpetrators of this horrible crime.
The Iraqi "caliphate" being established is a whole different animal in my opinion. This is a set-up of a government that seeks to destroy. They are destroying all Holy sites, they are killing innocent people, they are tearing down all the advances we made in our time in Iraq. This ISIS group is unstable and not particularly organized, But they are, so far, effective and almost completely unchallenged. The current regime in Iraq has proven themselves unable to deal with them in a decisive manner.
I have said I will not speculate on the signs of the times, this is for the simple fact that we do not know God's mind or His timetable. It looks as though Christ will return in the next few minutes but we know that we see things through a glass that is colored darkly by our own limited understanding.
As Christians here in America and elsewhere we can not predict but we can prepare. Strong and complete support of Israel. Evangelism and witness to convert as many as we can to the Love of Christ and His Word.
That is what we can do, what we must do. We must get the Word out.
(I know I am all over the place in this post. It is hard to communicate all I think and feel about this in an unemotional rational state because frankly these events have me all kinds of worked up.)
God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. He does not want any to go to the pit of Hell. He wants all to come to a saving grace through Jesus Christ who died for us.
We know this world will be unstable no matter what we do. Satan is not a kind task master. He wants as many as possible to join him in the pit for all eternity. He will work to keep things off-balance, to keep the hate, the war, the strife, and the chaos going. We can not stop him. Only God can hold him in check.
In the end according to our God we will overcome, Satan will lose but there is a terrible time before that. When God pulls His Spirit and His church out of this world. That shall be a dark time indeed. They shall have no good influence, merely the beast the son of satan to lead and guide them.
We must take advantage of what time we have whether 2 minutes or 2000 years to spread the Word. To lead as many souls as we can to Christ.
Peter said:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
We must work till the day is done. We must keep his mandate to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We must support His people. We must prepare as if we had no time left to witness. Today is the day of repentance. Today is the Day of the Lord.

2 Peter 3:1-10
2 Peter 3 King James Version (KJV)
3 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
