I have been thinking a lot lately during the loss of our friend, all about these faith healers, prosperity preachers, and the wishy-washy mealy mouthed preachers who are afraid to take a stand. They are false, and they do this nation a disservice.
Thank God our pastor will stand and preach the unabashed gospel even at a Funeral so that those hearing, who would never come to church, will have an opportunity probably never afforded to them to hear the Gospel. Thank God there are still some out there who will preach and teach the True Word of God.
Our God loves us but at no time did He ever promise ease. At no time did he ever offer health, wealth, and a rose garden.
He has promised us that we will be persecuted. He has promised that there will be trials and suffering, death and decay, sickness and pain.
He has promised to see us through those things but never did He say we wouldn't see them.
Romans 5:11-12
God did not want for us to suffer and die, Man did that when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of life in defiance of God.
God created man that He might have fellowship with us, walk in the cool of the evening with us. God knew man was going to be tempted and fall, but He did not want robots therefore He gave us minds that allowed us to make our own decisions. Had we been just creatures to do His bidding without critical thinking skills He would have used the angels or the animals for that. God wanted worshippers who worship Him out of choice and Love.
Then we listened to the snake and the woman and man sinned. It is on us. But we have a loving and gracious God. He had a plan to rectify that. He put a plan in place whereby the animals would bear the weight of our sin in sacrifice.
Then man in their infinite corruptness made that unbearable. Man perverted God's law and made it to burdensome.
God then sent His own Son to die for us. A sacrifice blameless and perfect.
Man's sin has caused no end of trouble but God has offered us a way out of that sin through no cost to us. Truly a good and gracious God. And it is so simple. All you must do is call on the name of the Lord Jesus and you WILL be saved.
That is the gospel. That is the truth. Man is sinful. Man is corrupt. Man can do nothing to get themselves out of their sins and wickedness.
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV

Romans 5:11-12
King James Version (KJV)
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned
God did not bring death into this world, Man did when Adam and Eve sinned. God brought the cure for death in the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Christ.12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
The only way we can turn things around in this world is through Repentance, Revival, and submission to God. But man is not capable of those things. We can only do that through Christ.
But how will they know unless we tell them this? How can a wicked world understand their wickedness and the plight of their condition unless we tell them?
The only way for us to do that is to witness, and pray. Submit yourselves to God and seek His will.
We need to stop qualifying sin. Stop with the feel good stuff and get back to the basics. Sin is Sin. Sin is wrong. Sin is destructive.
Preach the Gospel, the hard truth is what they need. We used to call it tough love.
James 4:6-8
King James Version (KJV)
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
