Back in my younger days it was a few who had tattoos, a few who didn't go to church, and just a select few who didn't respect the church. Now a days it seems that almost everyone has no respect, common courtesy, or tolerance for any who disagree with them.
We have had a serious falling away in this country from the church, God, and the Family. We have become a secular nation who is still Christian as long as we don't have to actually do anything to show/prove we are Christian.
I keep hearing of those people who are out there waiting for someone to show them love, Christ's love. That they can have acceptance without perversions, abuse or self-mutilation. The young people of today are praying for some purpose, some acceptance, and some meaning to their lives. They won't find it in drugs, sex, tattoos, or alcohol. They will only find it through Christ.
Suicide rates are at an all-time high among the youth, Disillusionment, low self esteem, and lack of any structure is tearing them apart. Humans crave structure, rules, routines. We have an innate need to serve God. There is a greater purpose and power out there than just you, the police or the government. All of those human agencies show a tendency towards corruption and self- interest.
The families of today have become isolationists as has all society,. we talk in quips, texts, and social media. We no longer have meaningful conversations or debate. We want our thinking to be perforated as our attention span sinks ever lower. Family dinners are a thing of the past. Sundays used to be an EVENT day where families got together went to church then a big family dinner at a house this week and then at another house next week.
Churches used to have day long events geared towards all the ages, but now we have slimmed down to Sunday morning services. Some still have Sunday evening if their members can be bothered to attend, Wednesday night prayer services? forget about it. Saturday night socials? not happening. We no longer use the church as the beacon, we use media and entertainment.
We have kicked God out of every area we possibly can. Not in government or schools, they are trying to get all references to God gone and out of sight. This coincides with the devaluing of human life (abortion), lack of self-discipline (drugs, alcohol, tattoos, and sexual perversions), and the complete and total lack of involvement in anything that does not directly entertain or benefit us.
The Family is the start of it all. We have allowed divorce to become so easy that marriage as a sacred institution is no more. Now it is not a life long commitment but a joke. Children are no longer taught that hard work and enterprise is far more valuable than a cellphone. We have allowed our society to decline and degrade and we have watched it fall and have done nothing to stop it.
Our preachers are more worried about their tax exempt status than preaching the word of God regardless of the consequences. Our church folks have stopped attending church when ever they can as they are too busy. Visitation no longer happens in this nation on a regular basis. Discipleship is non-existent, our churches are social clubs, our people are too comfortable, our convenience too important.
We need to find our sense of urgency. We need to re-dedicate ourselves to God, Family, and Nation. We as a country need to find our spine, our moral backbone and remember what made this nation great. Our faith in God, our friendship and support of Israel, and our Moral values, family and friends. I am going to end this blog with a verse and I pray that every family member who reads this will take that verse and mount it. Mean it. Make it happen.
