A no-hassle life?

I was flabbergasted earlier this week when I heard a fellow christian say that they were just going to quit this. Now to provide some background there is a ministry that is going seriously awry and so this individual was going to resign their position on the board of the mission because "it wasn't worth the hassle". Now this is where I start to complain. This is where we are in America giving up because we can't stand to be bothered.

Not worth the hassle? Seriously? Well and I have said this before it's a good thing that Christ didn't think the cross wasn't worth the hassle.The apostle Paul stood before Augustus and Felix the governor to proclaim the Good News, in fact he went out of his way to make sure that he had that opportunity. And yet here in the "land of the free and the home of the brave" we can't be bothered to maintain a good work because

it ain't worth the hassle

. Well sir now I know why America is going down the tube  Because WE ain't worth the hassle.

 So at what point did we in our soft amenity filled life arrive at this place and time? Well when we decided that church was useful only on certain days or at certain times. When we can't get out of bed to make time for God, when the NFL is more important or going to wal-mart on our only day off. Well frankly we have no one to blame but ourselves. Our immoral and excuse filled lives. Lazy, self absorbed, ignorant, and totally blithely OK with who and where we are.

Well folks the very next time you wanna turn around and look for someone to blame just look at this sad state of affairs. The other day I heard someone say if you run a red light and get hit don't point the finger at GOD , just stop when it warns you to stop. Well we have had our warnings. I just pray that God has not turned us over to reprobate minds and hardened hearts.

Wake up folks we are the reason for the state of the union. Return to our first love and Put 2 chronicles 7:14 into action before we are chastened to the point of no return.
