Where are the harvest gatherers?

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Matt 9:35-38 (KJV)

Saturday I was at Church at 9 am for a visitation Saturday. We have been doing this once a month with anywhere from 3 to 6 people turning out. Our church is gearing up for Vacation Bible School; full announcements made for 3 weeks, and a continental breakfast provided.
For the VBS push I was expecting 10ish, but no the response was the same as always. We had 6 people show up. Of course this was disheartening to me and Very diappointing. I was complaining on the phone about the response when all of a sudden it occurred to me that I should give thanks for what we had rather than what we didn't.

I was all set to put a scathing response on this blog.

Then I realized that is not my purpose here. My purpose here is mainly to opine on my struggles in the hopes that I may be able to show that we are not alone. That others have faced the same struggles we go through. Since the days of Christ the response has been tepid. We are to spread the Word of God and that is what I will do. I can not force people to respond, I have to trust in the Lord and know His Word will not return void. So let me say thanks here to the 6 who did show up on a blisteringly hot day and sweated with me.

So I am not very certain of what else to put here other than I am going to do what is right in the eyes of the LORD and continue having visitation. I am not going to worry about the response that is made. God is the judge and jury. I am responsible for me and for me alone. Therefore Lord let me stand true no matter the cost.

but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD

Josh 24:15 (KJV)

I know I have taken just half of this verse but I pray that for any reading this that it will ring true of us all. Let us stay true to the LORD GOD JEHOVAH and in so doing pray that He stays true to us.
