He Teaches

 He Teaches

Joh 7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
Joh 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Joh 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
What I find truly fascinating here, is not that He teaches. Nor is it the fact that they questioned Him. They always did that.
But they did not question what He is teaching.
They did not question the validity. No, they questioned how He knew the Scriptures and taught them like this having never studied under them.
They know Jesus knows how to read, for He has read in the Synagogue before, this is different. Here they are asking how He understands and interprets Scripture having had no formal training.
More than anything this is a moment for pause, they did not question what He was saying, how He said it or where.
No, they questioned how He knew.
Validity for the Knowledge of Jesus and His Father, for He knows the Doctrine of God.
(A whole new meaning to Home schooled huh?)
For the Doctrine of the Father was taught (if you will allow) to Him by the Father.
Jesus is a fascinating life from beginning to end. What a study.

Jesus cleanses the Temple and uses it Right

Mat 21:12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Mat 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Mat 21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
Mat 21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,

He cleansed the Temple, He ran off the businessmen and their money making ventures.
Then the lame and the blind came to Him and He healed them.
In the Temple. He is God, He is in His House and they had a Sabbath worship of God and man getting together and knowing each other.
The Children sing Hosannas to the Son of David for they knew who He was yet the Pharisees saw all this, the healings, the worship, the sheer momentousness of the event and what happens? They complain of the children singing and what they are saying.
For all the people see Jesus as the Messiah. Yet the religious leaders only saw a vagabond and a roustabout. Why? Because He did not follow their structured ways.
Jesus had one afternoon with the people, in His House, doing what the House was intended for. I bet that was a sight to see.
I even think He wants a lot more of those days, where we all come together and sing Hosannas to the King, Worshipping in fullness of Spirit.
When we leave the business of the world, the money changers at the door and we go in to meet with the God that so loved the World.
I think our Father likes that.
